Summer Loving

it has officially been summer for about 4 days and i couldn't be happier!
i have been working a lot in the last little while, nearly as much as i have been shopping...
anyways here are some of my newer gems and old favourites that scream summer to me!
i was feeling creative

what will you be wearing this summer!?

( H&M Garden Collection rossette cropped jacket, Steve Madden wedges, Jeffrey Campbell Leopard platforms, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Forever21 necklaces, Urban Outfitters and Forever21 braided headbands, various two finger rings, 'Lolita' and Rayban Wayfarer sunnies, fedora from Aritzia, and The Dead Weather's latest album "Sea of Cowards" )

Enjoy your weekend!!!

well it's true

Everyone finds their inspiration from different places,
i personally took guidance from my older sister from a very young age, and still do to this day.

i also continue to get ideas from friends, magazines, clothing itself and celebrities, but i never got into the blogging universe until last year?!
and now my inspiration pallet has gone through the roof.
trying new things and being motivated with a certain purpose and creativity, blogging has certainly helped to develop me into my own true self.
blogging is a fickle thing, sometimes i feel 'over it' and other times i have a lot to report about and comment on. i wonder what's next in this world...

YOU influence me
what influences YOU

decisions, decisions...

but which one!?!?
if you know me, you know i love marc by marc jacobs accessories...
and i have been wanting the black watch for TWO years, but now these others are tempting me.

black is easy, it goes with everything. enough said.

silver is a bit more girly, it goes with a lot as well-especially black and i wear a lot of it.

gold is classy. and i'd look like a ballaaaa, which i'm still
debating between being a good or a bad thing.....hahaha...

and the silver and gold have a little extra going on in the links...

what do you think!?!

Confessions of a Shopaholic

i read this book series when i was probably in grade 9 or 10, aside from being
very British, witty, and frustrating (just stop spending!!??) my young self did take
some personal tips from that book.

1.) spend less
2.) make more money

those are basically our two choices friends.
most of us need to make more money, myself
included! because i just cannot seem to resist some things...
Unfortunately, the movie remake did not live up to the novel (as usual)
too bad!

Yesterday my ladies friends and i all went on a little shopping spree downtown.
and now it is time to head to work early;
gotta make up those coats, shirts, hats, and accessories somehow!

happy wednesday :)

an amendment to the list:
3.) cutting out starbucks helps too :(

Are you a Shopoholic? What advice can you give us!?

On another note, this weekend brought Andrea's Dance year to a close.
I happily watched the R&D Recital and was so pleased!!!
Those girls are so talented! So fun to watch :)

Tomorrow i am back to work, hoping for sunny weather
This week i look forward to a BBQ at my mama's and moving into my new place!!!!!

Farmer's Market

To my surprise....
today i was featured on the front page of my local newspaper for selling fresh fruits and vegetables from my family farm in my town's Farmer's Market!
I was at work all day and getting text messages about my cover shot, naturally the end of the day couldn't come sooner so i could race home and access the damage.
But actually it wasn't that bad, so here you go world:

My summer job is selling produce at a stand my sister and I set up on the road in our town.
It is basically as awesome as it gets
friendly people + sun + money - farmers tan = perfect summer!

How do you spend these sunny days?!

What's your secret?

For years my eyes have been opened to the world of Post Secret. Created by Frank Warren, it all started as a community art project that sparked a mass movement of confession and release on the backs of anonymous postcards.
I first heard about these books through my hair dresser and after one cut, colour, and wash i went through the first book and immediately knew i needed to buy them all.

I don't know what it is exactly about reading these intensely real secrets, but they seem to be very therapeutic. Maybe they let you know there are people out there like you, or that your issues don't seem as bad, usually they make you feel less alone in the world. A lot of them are also hilarious and downright bizarre...but good reads none the less!

I have bought these books for quite a few friends, they make great gifts, and everyone seems to understand the overwhelming power of a stranger's secret.
Frank updates his website every sunday, check them out HERE
I currently own all five books and i go back through them frequently.
hopefully you enjoy them also.

i'm walking away now, one step forward and back two

turned out to be a sunny day today, finally!!
the sun urged me to bust out my heart shaped lenses
so Lolita.
and so MaryKate Olsen.
I read the novel by Vladimir Nabokov before i saw the movie, and i saw MK wear them in a photo from their book 'Influence' before I realized they were dubbed "Lolita" glasses for a reason (the photo below)
I am channeling my inner MK more than Lolita though....

Enjoy the weather!!

buy them for around $15 at any Hot Topic store or online HERE!
the ones online are in black but they do come in red too.

easy and convenient....
I think i am good for new shoes for the next while...
I find it hard to say No to shoes :(
ANYWAYS what a pleasant surprise to have some guy banging at my front door relentlessly as i stumble down in my PJ's and smudged makeup.
Actually, I'm sure he gets that all the time.
YAY even the box was cute!

Today is my best friend Shay's Convocation for finishing her Program to work with Special Needs kids in schools. I took her Starbucks to start the day off right and it was really nice to see and chat with her
we are so proud of you
Running errands, cleaning, and doing paperwork today.
The weather is in between raining and almost
raining, thought this outfit would do the trick.

maybe i need some rehab, or maybe just need some sleep

statement necklaces, animal printed items, and wedges

home sweet home after leaving 110 degree weather for an hour delay at the airport

so lively and carefree
i already want to go back :(
