Happy New Year!

Hard to believe another year has gone by so soon.
Easily, 2011 was the fastest and busiest year of my life
to date. So much has changed for me and at the same
time it seems like nothing has. It's strange.
I already know 2012 will bring on some massive
changes and all of those are for the positive!
I look forward to taking some breaks, giving
myself more time for me and feeling happy
and accomplished. Not to mention a few
destinations i cannot wait to visit...

I have a general sense of optimism within me today
and i cannot think of a better way to look back on 2011.

Thank you to all that have taken the time to read my blog!
Enjoy your New Year! Be safe, have fun, stay positive!
2012 is my year for ME and i think it's overdue.
Here's to what comes next

party time

Happy New Years Eve!
but what to wear!?

sequins, party dresses, metallics
casual, vixen, edgy
so many avenues to choose!
happy dressing :-)
xoxo

ps-
if figuring out what to wear is one of my top
priorities, then 2011 must have treated me well.
very excited to ring in the new year with all of my
friends and family.
I love those in my life;
who make an effort and care about me.
that is what it is all about, the rest is just picking the dress!

what do you wish for?

stumbled upon this video collaboration between FaceHunter and ESPRIT.
such a cute and inspirational video!
:-)

"Six weeks. Six cities.
Follow Facehunter as he explores some of the world's most exciting metropolises.
The people he meets, the places he sees, the inspiration he captures on film.
Ideas and wishes from those who know the city best, the people who live there!"

home improvements

i love this idea!
Emily over at Cupcakes and Cashmere did this
unique DIY a few weeks back.
i want to do this!
although, i hardly have any pairs of sunglasses...
and i am basically only seen in my wayfarers...
BUT THIS
will show me my sunglasses that i DO own
so maybe i will begin wearing more than one pair.
right now they are shoved in something that resembles
a pot for a non-existent plant.
at any outcome, it will look cute in my place
:-)

winter inspo

Giorgia Tordini's rocking a
perfect winter getup!

ps-
totally noticing how lately many fashionistas
are choosing to wear their
jackets ON their shoulders only...?
way too chilly here to try that!

New Fave

Quinoa!
made enough salad to keep me going
through the entire week.
healthy, filling, gluten free,
quick, easy, 1 cup makes about 4 cups cooked
i highly recommend it in your diet!

first salad (above two photos) contains:
quinoa, cucumber, tomatoes, chickpeas, garlic, olive oil,
cilantro, lemon juice

second salad (above two photos):
quinoa, corn, black beans, lime juice, lemon juice,
tomatoes, cilantro.

it is extremely versatile, as a vegetarian i try to make
my salads as filling as possible. sometimes veggies just
don't cut it when i'm really hungry...
great for breakfast as an oatmeal substitute with fruit,
and for lunch and dinner in salads!
try it!
yum!

leaves are falling all around, it's time i was on my way

Fall Favourites

a song comes slipping through the radio static to change my mood, a little George Strait 1982

Err, i am pretty sure this is still a lifestyle blog and not just
about my current eating habits...
but....i made cookies!

It's sad too because i actually have some lovely new clothes...
in a later post i promise :)

I whipped up some cookies a while back because i needed
to take a serious 5 from my homework.
sometimes you just need a break!
and i wanted one that wasn't technology-related

I've really been enjoying this Fall season!
(as previously mentioned i am sure)
but it has made school and my mood so much happier.
and now with Halloween behind us, it is time to let
the Christmas spirit slowly take me over,
and i am pretty sure i am a-okay with that

Enjoy your week!

it ain't me

I've been in a baking mood lately...
had too many peaches than i could eat!
decided on a blueberry-peach cobbler a few sundays ago.
it was delicious :)
and super simple
see recipe HERE
but, next time i would like to make one with the
oatmeal on top...seems more traditional.
yum! can't wait for round 2!

I also made buttermilk cookies last week
with the extra buttermilk i had leftover.
hmm..what should i make this week?!
what are you baking!?

PS-
I loved my four day getaway to Las Vegas!
Wish i was still there!
xoxo
